MS COASTAL HERITAGE TRAIL

Picayune is now officially designated a part of the MS Gulf Coast National Heritage Area. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 was Picayune Day at the Pearl River County Welcome Center, Rhonda Jenkins Price and Kristen Kapiotis Representatives with Mississippi Gulf Coast National Heritage Area delivered two (2) entry point signs to be placed in the public right-of-way as an entry point to the Heritage Area. MGCNHA signage provides information to residents and visitors that they are entering a cultural significant area that is recognized by the United States Congress and designated by the Mississippi legislation in 2004. MGCHNA believe that sign presence will strengthen the National Park Service identity to the region and what the State of Mississippi has to offer residents and visitors.
